Smartphones - The Evolution

By

Smartphones Evolution

The evolution of smartphones follows the phones. In general, all models take pictures and read music files and video, although the quality is not always optimal. Most devices already have Wi-Fi function, which allows access to the Net via wireless home networks or hotspots. One of the latest innovations is the integration in smartphones, a GPS antenna. To be a complete navigation system, it needs a browser, maps and car kit, still not widespread.

The true smartphone

• It should meet certain characteristics to be considered a smartphone. Remain as a phone. This function, in some models, it is more difficult due to the size and weight. It should also support an operating system (Windows Mobile 5 and 6, Symbian and Blackberry)-compatible computers.
• A good synchronization with the computer is essential to exchange information (contacts, calendar, notes, e-mail messages, files, etc..).
• Easy data entry is also essential, if possible with a full keyboard or a touch screen, and not by a normal alphanumeric keypad of mobile phones.
• Good connectivity and easy access to the Net is part of the requirements. To send e-mail, the transmission speed of GPRS can be sufficient. To connect to the Net, the best is to have Wi-Fi, UMTS or even HSDPA.

Mobile phones with PDA functions

• Halfway between the more advanced phones and smartphones ordinary, the small size of these devices makes them easy to carry. Too passive, the direct introduction of new data is not very easy. The screen, not touch, is small and the keypad of the phone used to write vulgar messages. Not suitable for writing long emails.
• They are valid for appliances carry the agenda and the book of contacts updated by syncing with your computer. You can also read the e-mail messages using the mobile network or via Wi-Fi Choice may be based on other criteria, such as the camera, a good MP3 or GPS. If you want a device of this type may find them, with an acceptable quality, from 350 euros.

Smartphone keyboard

• Appliances with keyboard, sometimes with touch screen, designed to use more professional. Although bulkier than mobile phones, can easily be used to call. Allow write long emails and enter data with ease. Can be found from 400 euros.
• There are also devices with full keyboard, for those who need to enter a large volume of information outside of your workplace. However, they are expensive, bulky and not convenient to call. You can find them on sale from 900 euros.

Smartphones with touch screen only

• These devices have no keyboard or even a simple number, common to any mobile phone. All information, including dialing a number to make a voice call, is introduced with the help of stylus. In general, the models have an acceptable size for use as a phone. From 400 euros you can buy a reasonable unit.
